1.- General Information .

AYCTelecom are continuing to develop more and more features and functions for their IPcts range of products. The product family itself will be increasing along with additional cards and software applications. Please see below some of the developments we are currently working on. Dates for release of these will be announced in due course.
 
  • IPcts-B - Released
    • 12 x 12 system with with all the features. Simple installation Wizard

    • Upgrade packs for converting an IPcts-B to and IPcts and from an IPcts to and IPcts-E.

Polycom are a manufacturer of IP Desk Phones and IP Conferencing Phones with very high quality voice and a business phone look
Axtan manufacture ISDN IP Gateways for conectivity to ISDN devices or PSTN trunk lines
Boscom manufacture analogue and ISDN IP Gateways for connectivity to analogue and ISDN devices or PSTN trunk lines
Westell are a manufacturer of networking products and primerily broadband modems and routers with Firewalling and NAT functionality with SIP awareness
3Com manufacture network devices and a broad range of other IP products. Their Ethernet network switches provide excellent quality

1.- News Update 6thJuly 2006

V2.1 firmware is released and is available for download from this web site by accredited engineers. See below the new features it contains:
  • Aastra Auto-Deployment - the Aastra 5xi range of handsets have now been added to the list of phones recommended for use with the IPcts range of IP-PBX systems. For recommended products, please go to the "Products" page on our web site.
  • Phone "BLF" keys - the soft-buttons on supported handsets can now be used as "Busy Lamp Field" buttons to show other user appearances and lines status information and used to call/transfer calls.
  • Phone Paging - supported handsets can now be used as "Paging Devices". Paging announcements are delivered through the phones speak. Paging can be directed at individual extensions or Groups.
  • Phone Distinctive Ringing - individual phones can have different ringing tones for different incoming calls to enable the user to distinguish internal or external calls.
  • Queuing - further enhancements to the "Advanced Queues" on the IPcts system that allow users to break out of a queue to select another option or time out on the queue to a pre-set destination.
  • Hunt Groups - an additional Hunt Group Type has been added, there is now a "Cumulative" option which rings the 1st phone then adds the 2nd phone together with the 1st and then the 3rd and so on.
  • Day / Night service Override - if the "timed Day / Night switch-over" is enabled on the system configuration, it is now possible to manually override it and switch the system in to the required mode.
  • Additional Trunk Modules - the Module configuration page now allows for further AT4 and DT2 cards to be installed in the new Expansion Chassis. Total of 4 modules in the IPcts and 6 in the IPcts-E
  • Phone Enable / Disable - a phone extension can now be disabled to provide additional security to stop anyone logging on to the IPcts system.

New Hardware

A new Expansion Chassis is now available that enables additional AT4 (4 port analogue) and/or DT2 (4 channel ISDN BRI) cards to be installed (2 per expansion chassis plus the 2 slots in the main chassis).

 

2.- Quarterly News letter Topics 19th May 2006

IPcts-B now released in Oct 2008 and available for shippment. See below the features and functions it contains:
  • IPcts-B
    • The IPcts-B is the Basic version of the existing IPcts IP PBX system. It uses the same hardware so that upgrading to the IPcts or IPcts-E versions is a simple remote upgrade or on site upgrade process. No need to return the system to base.
  • Capacity
    • The IPcts-B is a 12 x 12 system. It has capacity for 8 Analogue or ISDN lines (which require the internal Ananlogue or ISDN BRI cards) and 4 VoIP Service Provider lines, giving a total of 12 lines. On the user / extension side it has capacity for 12 IP telephones which can be any SIP device however, both Polycom and the SNOM 300 range are "Auto-Deployable".
  • Features
    • The IPcts-B has many of the features from IPcts product range:-
      • VoIP lines and extensions
      • Analogue and ISDN capability
      • Hunt Group
      • Pickup Group
      • Voicemail
      • Auto-Attendant
      • Remote / Home Worker

 

3.- News Update 8th March 2006

V.2.00 firmware will be released in Q2-2008 and will be available for download from this web site by accredited engineers. See below the new features it contains:
  • DT2 (ISDN BRI) Card
    • The DT2 Card will provide 2 x ISDN2 BRI lines, so a total of 4 ISDN channels. In addition there are 2 x FXS analogue ports for connectivity od fax machines etc.
  • Increased Voicemail Storage
    • The Voicemail storage capacity will be increase to approx. 100 hours. This will require a hardware upgrade on existing systems. All new systems will be shipped with this built in.
  • Call Recording
    • A basic Call Recording facility that will enable the user to record calls selectively and then play back the conversation through their telephone or download the recording on to their PC and convert the file to a standard WAV file to listen through PC speakers.
  • Email Notification of Voicemail
    • The IPcts' Voicemail system will be able to send an email to a users email address to notify them of a Voicemail. The user can then call in to the Voicemail to listen or using the new Advanced User Voicemail Web-Page (below) download the recording and listen through the PC speakers.
  • Advanced User Voicemail Web-Portal Page
    • All Voicemail's and Call Recordings will be placed on to the users "Advanced User Voicemail Web-Page" where the user can use their standard web browser to navigate to, also remotely, and accesses all their stored messages. These can be downloaded on to a PC and using the "free" converter (to be installed from a link on this web site) the file call be played through a standard PC speaker set up.
  • Time Controlled Day / Night Service switch over
    • The Day and Night Service modes of the system will be controllable via "Time of Day" as well as manually switchable.
